league is 14 weeks i think but one is the sweeper so we play 39 games. the reason i've been doing bad is because the center has put a nasty hang spot out on boards 8-13 or so. u either have to play deep inside of it or u have to get outside of it. my partner made me try something last night by swinging the ball about 10 to 4. did that and had about 10 boards of area to strike and a great ball reaction. so i think i'll try there next week. but ya that 220 average is seeming like nothing right now haha

I am starting off a little slow for me with a 658 and a 687. So I am averaging about 224 so far. But we are not winning games because one of the other guys set a huge average and couldn't go any where near it last week so I guess we will see what happens tonight. we are bowling the all lady team and they have a ton of handicap (250 pins) we will have to make up and you never know when they will bowl really well.

Yeah I started bowling when I was six (1967) and got serious around the time I turned twelve mainly because I won my first trophy and I wanted more. ;-)

Hey the weight training has helped me alot. Hell I'm 46 and soon to be 47 so I am trying to get any advantage I can. I will tell you this my last ball feels just like when I threw that first ball. I also don't get that first ball stiffness.

Yes once you start rolling the big games you start worrying way less about them. The way I look at the 11 in a row is I take all of the pressure off because I have already blown the 300 score so hey no pressure just strikes.

It's funny I have this lady that bowls with me and when we practice she keeps count of how many strikes I throw and the night I threw the 300 she said all together with practice and my second game start I had 25 strikes in a row. I generally don't count myself.

YEP! I threw four 800's before I ever rolled my first sanctioned 300 game. The funny thing is I usually have 10-15 279 games every year. It's always that one 8, 9 or 10 pin tap that just kills my chance.

I have had 300's but nothing where I would get the ring. I even had some when I was a junior bowler but back then you pretty much got a pat on the back and an attaboy.

But since I have been bowling here in Huntsville for the last 16 years I have had 290, 298's and 299's and four 800's. I guess I also had my first 700 back in 1994 and I was glad to see one or two a year and now I have 15-20 a year.

The thing that has helped me have such a great year this year is the fact that I have been weight lifting for the last twelve months and it has really helped with my arm strength and endurance.
